| Can't Sleep, Clown Kings Will Eat Me |
[Dec. 21st, 2008|08:38 pm] |

This is one of the only good pictures I got of all the snow we have in Seattle before my camera battery died and I made the discovery that I had forgotten to charge my backup battery. |

| The Long Dark Nightmare is Over! |
[Nov. 6th, 2008|02:01 pm] |
As of November 17th I will no longer be broke-ass loser Brad! Instead, I will be decent-wage-earning happy employed loser Brad!
Yay!
*bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
I want to thank all of my Seattlite friends who have sheltered and fed my sorry ass all these weeks while I freaked out about my general jobless moneyless situation while looking for work. For providing encouragement and support and motivation for me to get the heck out of Montucky.
A special shout-out to Galen and Eric: I couldn't have made the leap without you. Thank you. |

| Fucking Assholes |
[Nov. 5th, 2008|11:43 pm] |

Just look at how happy they are at restricting the rights of their fellow human beings for incredibly stupid and unfounded reasons. Hell, they're downright ecstatic! How they can call themselves good decent Christians is beyond me because they're breaking all of his goddamned rules.
Hey, Bob Knoke? Fuck you. Amanda Stanfield? Fuck you. And you too, Jim Domen. Fuck you. J.D. Gaddis, you're an asshole as well. Fuck you. |

Shot at ISO 100 under very low lighting conditions while rather inebriated. I'm stunned that this image wasn't blurred beyond belief. |

| Milestone #1 |
[Jul. 16th, 2008|08:41 pm] |
The initial rough cut of Adam Funn is complete! Weighing in at over 22 minutes, it was distilled down from 10+ hours of footage. Kudos to everyone involved!
Now I just have to finesse the edit, color-correct each and every shot, rip out the sound and put it back in, and compose a 22-minute-long musical score.
At least the heavy lifting is over. :)

| And the job search continues... |
[Apr. 23rd, 2008|12:53 am] |
1. Boeing has decided not to grant me an interview. 2. The photography place has decided they don't want me as their "photoshop guy". 3. "Video Store Clerk" is apparently not enough to qualify for other retail jobs. 4. Not one of my photos up at Barnes & Noble has sold. They're only $30. They've been up for a whole month. 5. Tomorrow I fully expect to lose at the lottery again. |

| I Can Has Macintosh! |
[Jan. 20th, 2008|02:42 pm] |
After saving, scraping, and some generous donations from friends, I now have an exact duplicate of my Mac (via ebay)!
Yay!
*bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
... it's not really an exact duplicate -- this one has twice the RAM! Woo! |

| Requiem for a Mac |
[Nov. 28th, 2007|05:40 pm] |
I just put in the new power supply and hit the power button.
Nothing. The machine is dead.
Digital photography, video editing, music composition... gone.
A new Mac costs around $2700.
Shit. |

| The Week of Suck |
[Nov. 15th, 2007|06:59 pm] |
About a week ago: So I'm doing my dorky computer stuff on my Mac. I go out for a cigarette. I come back in to find a powered-off computer and the HappyFun smell of burnt electronics.
The power supply's fan had died, causing it to overheat.
The downside to Macintosh computers: they use non-standard parts. I had just paid my cell phone and internet bills, leaving me with juuuuust barely enough money for food. I manage to find a friend willing to lend me $100 for the part! Yay! I put the cash in my wallet and order a new power supply from the one place in town that works on macs.
There's roughly a week's wait. I'm feverently hoping that the power supply didn't take any system components with it when it blew -- I can't afford a new mac.
Fast-forward to today. No power supply yet. Maybe in a day or two.
I go get coffee. Come back to the house. Fiddle around with my Linux install that had decided to go totally wonky.
It's up and running.
I decide to celebrate with something that contains a lot of sugar, so I grab my coat and my w....
Where the fuck is my wallet?
I look everywhere. I clean my room. I dig through every nook and cranny. I retrace my steps to the gas station I get my coffee at -- where I last used my wallet.
They don't have it. It's nowhere to be seen.
My food money? Gone. The $100 I borrowed for the power supply? Gone. ATM card? Gone.
Now I've got no money for a few days until my next paycheck -- the one I have to pay rent with. I have no functional Macintosh and no way to pay for the part I need to get it to work. This means no photography. No video editing. No music composition. No simulated-world-with-evolving-critters. Nothing.
I call and get my ATM card cancelled.
Now I sit here, just waiting for the next catastrophe to hit. |
